# Bing

How to connect Bing to Roivenue, what the default setup downloads, and how the figures are put together.

Bing, now Microsoft Advertising, covering search and audience campaigns. The Roivenue connector downloads daily impressions, clicks and spend, together with conversions broken down by goal.

## Setting up the connector

### 1. Connect the account

Add a Bing connector in Roivenue and choose Connect to Bing. Roivenue sends you to Bing to sign in and approve access, then brings you back to Select Bing Account.

No keys to copy, and nothing to configure on the Bing side.

### Setup options

The connector asks a few questions when you create it. The defaults suit most accounts.

| Option                  | Default    | What it does                                                                                                                                   |
| ----------------------- | ---------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Goal REGEX filter | everything | Limits which Microsoft Advertising goals are counted as conversions. Useful when the account tracks several goals and only one is a real sale. |
| Conversion type name | `purchase` | What the selected goals are called inside Roivenue. |
| AdCampaign REGEX filter | everything | Limits the connector to campaigns matching a pattern. |

## What the default setup downloads

One job, assembling performance and conversions from three Microsoft Advertising reports: ad group performance, ad group conversions, and campaign level conversions for the campaign types that have no ad groups.

### Where the values land

| Bing field       | Roivenue column |
| ---------------- | --------------- |
| `CampaignName`   | adCampaign      |
| ad group name    | adGroup         |
| `Impressions`    | impressions     |
| `Clicks`         | clicks          |
| `Spend`          | cost            |
| `AllConversions` | conversions     |
| `AllRevenue`     | conversionValue |
| `CurrencyCode`   | currencyCode    |

Performance Max campaigns arrive at campaign level with no ad group, matching how Google Ads behaves, because Microsoft Advertising does not expose ad groups for them.

The job reprocesses the last three days on every run.

## Available columns

The table above is what the recommended template downloads. Every column this connector can bring back is listed on [Bing - Supported Columns](/roivenue-resources/roivenue-training/roivenue-app/data/connectors-overview/list-of-connectors/bing/bing-supported-columns.md).

Adding one means editing the connector in the Advanced Editor, which stops that connector receiving template updates.

## How far back the data goes

The connector will request up to three years of history. How much arrives depends on what Microsoft Advertising holds for the account.

## Troubleshooting

<details>

<summary>Conversions are higher than expected</summary>

Every goal is counted unless a filter is set. If the account tracks page views or sign-ups alongside purchases, they are all included. Narrow the goal regex on the connector to the goals that represent a sale.

</details>

<details>

<summary>A campaign is missing</summary>

Check the campaign regex filter on the connector. It defaults to matching everything, but a filter set during onboarding will silently exclude anything that does not match.
