DV360

How to connect DV360 to Roivenue, what the default setup downloads, and how the figures are put together.

Display & Video 360. The Roivenue connector downloads daily impressions, clicks and media cost per line item, plus Floodlight conversions and YouTube view-through activity.

Setting up the connector

Add a DV360 connector in Roivenue and choose Connect to DV360, then sign in with the Google account that has access. You will also be asked for your DV360 Account ID, which Roivenue cannot discover on its own.

What the default setup downloads

Five jobs. One brings impressions, clicks and media cost per line item and day, a second brings Floodlight conversions and revenue, and three more download the view, click and YouTube feeds behind synthetic impressions.

The DV360 line item becomes the ad group in Roivenue, and the creative becomes the ad name.

Cost is total media cost in the advertiser's currency, which includes DV360 fees. A report showing media spend alone will be lower.

Conversions come from Floodlight, combining post-view and post-click revenue, and YouTube TrueView activity is downloaded separately.

The main jobs reprocess the last ten days on every run, and the synthetic impression jobs the last three.

Available columns

The table above is what the recommended template downloads. Every column this connector can bring back is listed on DV360 - Supported Columns.

Adding one means editing the connector in the Advanced Editor, which stops that connector receiving template updates.

Synthetic impressions

Alongside the daily figures, this connector downloads a conversion feed that Roivenue uses to build synthetic impressions.

Ad platforms report conversions that Roivenue never saw as a web session, because of ad blockers, cross-device journeys or conversions uploaded from a CRM. Left alone those orders look like they came from nowhere, and paid media gets undercounted. The synthetic impression stands in for the missing visit so path analysis and attribution see a complete journey.

There is nothing to configure. It comes with the connector, and it is why the setup creates more than one job.

How far back the data goes

The connector will request up to three years of history. How much arrives depends on what the platform holds for the account.

Troubleshooting

Cost is higher than the media spend I expected

The connector reads total media cost, which includes platform fees. Compare against the same metric in DV360 rather than against media cost alone.

Conversions include activities I do not care about

Every Floodlight activity is counted unless a filter is set. Narrow the activity regex on the connector to the activities that represent a sale.

The connector cannot find the account

DV360 account selection is not automatic. The account id is entered by hand at setup, so a wrong or changed id stops the connector finding anything.
