Google Analytics 4

How to connect Google Analytics 4 to Roivenue, what the default setup downloads, and how the figures are put together.

This connector reads sessions from the Google Analytics 4 API. Where the BigQuery connector gives session level detail, this one works from GA4's own reporting and needs no BigQuery export.

Setting up the connector

Add a Google Analytics 4 connector in Roivenue and choose Connect to Google Analytics 4, then sign in with a Google account that has access to the property.

What the default setup downloads

One job, bringing back sessions with their traffic source.

Both the session source and the first user source arrive, so last-touch and first-touch reporting are both possible from the same rows.

GA4 applies its own sampling and thresholding to API responses. Where the BigQuery connector reads raw event data, this one is subject to whatever GA4 decides to return.

The job reprocesses the last three days on every run.

How far back the data goes

The connector will request up to three years of history. How much arrives depends on what the platform holds for the account.

Troubleshooting

Numbers do not match the GA4 interface

GA4 samples and thresholds API responses, and the interface does not always apply the same rules. For exact figures the BigQuery connector is the more reliable route.
