Google Analytics (BigQuery)
How to connect Google Analytics (BigQuery) to Roivenue, what the default setup downloads, and how the figures are put together.
This connector reads Google Analytics 4 data out of BigQuery rather than the GA4 API, which gives session level detail the API does not expose. It brings sessions with their traffic source, and transactions.
Setting up the connector
Add a Google Analytics (BigQuery) connector in Roivenue and choose Connect to Google Analytics via BigQuery, then sign in with a Google account that can read the datasets.
Setup options
Google Analytics Dataset
none
The BigQuery dataset your GA4 export writes to.
Google Ads Dataset
none
The BigQuery dataset holding your Google Ads export, used to enrich ad group names.
Currency
EUR
The currency transactions are stamped with.
What the default setup downloads
Two jobs. One brings sessions with their traffic source, page views and hits, and a second brings transactions.
Where the values land
webSource, webMedium, webCampaign, webAdGroup
the UTM dimensions
clientId
clientId
sessionId
sessionId
sessions, pageViews, hits, bounces
session metrics
conversions, conversionValue
conversions and revenue
This is a web analytics connector rather than an advertising one, so it produces sessions and transactions instead of campaign spend.
It depends on your GA4 BigQuery export being set up and running. If that export stops, this connector has nothing to read.
The jobs reprocess the last two days on every run.
Available columns
The table above is what the recommended template downloads. Every column this connector can bring back is listed on Google Analytics (BigQuery) - Supported Columns.
Adding one means editing the connector in the Advanced Editor, which stops that connector receiving template updates.
How far back the data goes
History goes back as far as your BigQuery export does. GA4 only fills the export from the day it was switched on, so there is nothing before that date.
