# TikTok

How to connect TikTok to Roivenue, what the default setup downloads, and how the figures are put together.

TikTok Ads reports at ad level. The Roivenue connector downloads daily impressions, clicks and spend for every ad, plus the conversions TikTok attributes to them.

## Setting up the connector

### 1. Connect the account

Add a TikTok connector in Roivenue and choose Connect to TikTok. Roivenue sends you to TikTok to sign in and approve access, then brings you back to Select TikTok View.

No keys to copy, and nothing to configure on the TikTok side.

### Setup options

The connector asks a few questions when you create it. The defaults suit most accounts.

| Option                  | Default            | What it does                                                                                                      |
| ----------------------- | ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| TikTok Conversion Type | `complete_payment` | Which TikTok conversion counts as your conversion. Other options include registration, add to cart and page view. |
| Conversion type name | `purchase` | What that conversion is called inside Roivenue. |
| AdCampaign REGEX filter | everything | Limits the connector to campaigns matching a pattern. |

## What the default setup downloads

Three jobs. One brings impressions, clicks and spend per ad and day, a second brings conversions and their value, and a third downloads the hourly feed behind synthetic impressions.

### Where the values land

| TikTok field                          | Roivenue column |
| ------------------------------------- | --------------- |
| `campaign_name`                       | adCampaign      |
| `adgroup_name`                        | adGroup         |
| `ad_name`                             | adName          |
| `impressions`                         | impressions     |
| `clicks`                              | clicks          |
| `spend`                               | cost            |
| chosen TikTok conversion metric | conversions |
| chosen TikTok conversion value metric | conversionValue |

The connector reads auction campaigns only. Reach and Frequency campaigns, which TikTok sells on a fixed buy, are not included and their spend will be missing.

Deleted and disabled ads are still downloaded, so spend that happened before an ad was switched off is not lost when someone tidies up the account.

The jobs reprocess the last 30 days on every run, which is unusually long and reflects how late TikTok settles its numbers. Treat the last month as provisional.

## Available columns

The table above is what the recommended template downloads. Every column this connector can bring back is listed on [TikTok - Supported Columns](/roivenue-resources/roivenue-training/roivenue-app/data/connectors-overview/list-of-connectors/tiktok/tiktok-supported-columns.md).

Adding one means editing the connector in the Advanced Editor, which stops that connector receiving template updates.

## Synthetic impressions

Alongside the daily figures, this connector downloads a conversion feed that Roivenue uses to build synthetic impressions.

Ad platforms report conversions that Roivenue never saw as a web session, because of ad blockers, cross-device journeys or conversions uploaded from a CRM. Left alone those orders look like they came from nowhere, and paid media gets undercounted. The synthetic impression stands in for the missing visit so path analysis and attribution see a complete journey.

There is nothing to configure. It comes with the connector, and it is why the setup creates more than one job.

## How far back the data goes

The connector will request up to three years of history. How much arrives depends on what TikTok holds for the account.

## Troubleshooting

<details>

<summary>Spend is lower than TikTok Ads Manager shows</summary>

The most likely cause is a Reach and Frequency campaign. The connector downloads auction campaigns only, so fixed-buy campaigns are absent entirely.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Recent numbers keep changing</summary>

That is expected. The jobs reprocess 30 days on every run because TikTok continues to adjust recent figures.

</details>

<details>

<summary>A campaign is missing</summary>

Check the campaign regex filter on the connector. It defaults to matching everything, but a filter set during onboarding will silently exclude anything that does not match.
