# Dashboard

The Dashboard is the home page of Roivenue. It answers one question fast: how is marketing performing right now? Instead of opening each report, you see the numbers that matter to you on one screen.

A dashboard is made of widgets. A widget is a chart, table, or KPI card that you add from a Roivenue page. Each widget keeps its own metrics, dimensions, attribution model, date range, and filters. You can change these settings later without rebuilding the widget.

Use the Dashboard when you want to:

* check your main KPIs every morning in one place,
* build separate views for different people, for example a CMO board and a channel manager board,
* compare attribution models, markets, or periods side by side,
* share a ready view with colleagues instead of sending screenshots.

The page has three parts:

1. **Header:** dashboard name, Share button, Edit Dashboard button, currency selector, dashboard date range, and Filter Panel.
2. **Widgets:** the charts, tables, and KPI cards on the board.
3. **Dashboard List:** all dashboards you own or that others shared with you.

To open the page, click **Dashboard** in the left navigation. The dashboard set as default opens first.

### How to open and switch dashboards

Hover over **Dashboard** in the left navigation. The **Dashboard List** opens next to it.

* **Personal Boards** are dashboards you created. Only you see them until you share them.
* **Shared Boards** are dashboards other users shared with you.
* The pin icon marks your default dashboard.

Click a dashboard to open it. To create a new one, click **Add Dashboard** at the top of the list.

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FmDTFflGkOr7ejSBKCw4z%2F02-dashboard-list.png?alt=media&amp;token=d02b107a-d7b9-49e1-9824-37b99d665b88" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Each dashboard in the list has a ⋮ menu:

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FD2yuVYGxFFjqXawn4wLg%2F03-dashboard-list-menu.png?alt=media&amp;token=d3e13bf1-0d14-482b-8c54-f992bda34d1e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

| Action          | What it does                                                                                                |
| --------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Set as Default | Opens this dashboard automatically when you go to the Dashboard page. |
| Rename | Changes the dashboard name. |
| Duplicate | Copies the dashboard with all its widgets. Useful when you need the same view for another market or client. |
| Leave Dashboard | Removes a shared dashboard from your list. You get it back only if an Editor invites you again. |
| Delete | Deletes the dashboard. If it is shared, it is deleted for the other users too. |

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** You can't delete or leave your default dashboard. Set another dashboard as default first. You also can't delete your only dashboard, and you can't leave a dashboard where you are the only Editor.
{% endhint %}

### How to add a widget to a dashboard

You can add a chart, table, or KPI card from Reports, Attribution, and other Roivenue pages. The widget takes the exact settings the component has when you add it, so set it up first.

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FAAZvdVkPAwhNoZ7sGAyQ%2F04-add-to-dashboard-icon.png?alt=media&amp;token=a21d4a7c-ec2c-4a91-baa5-c4388e7c7fca" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FZETZjEiCrX6YciuGOnB1%2F05-kpi-card-add-to-dashboard.png?alt=media&amp;token=21457c5a-23a4-4281-b401-d255c5e6e08c" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. Open the page and set the dimension, metrics, attribution model, date range, and filters.
2. Find **Add to Dashboard** on the component you want to keep:
   * On charts and tables, it is the dashboard icon in the top right corner of the component. Hover over it to see the label.
   * On KPI cards, open the card's ⋮ menu and click **Add to Dashboard**.
3. In **Add Widget to Dashboard**, check the **Widget Name**. Roivenue fills it in, and you can rewrite it.
4. Choose the dashboard in **Widget Dashboard**. To start a new one, click **Create New Dashboard** and enter its name.
5. Click **Add**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Give widgets names that say what they show, for example "Cost by channel, last 12 weeks". The name does not update when you change the widget settings later.
{% endhint %}

A widget created from a table keeps the table settings from the moment you added it. Later changes in the table do not change the widget.

### How to read, edit, copy, or download a widget

Every widget shows its name and a date chip with the date range it uses.

* Click the **widget name** to open the source page with the widget's settings. Use it when you want to dig deeper into the numbers.
* Click the **download** icon on a chart widget to download it.
* Open the widget's ⋮ menu for more actions:

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FlqULdRmQiY8A5yqXJqzu%2F07-widget-menu.png?alt=media&amp;token=5a9fd3da-1260-4591-94e7-d70ac9d4a385" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

| Action    | What it does                                                                                         |
| --------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Info | Shows what the widget displays: metric, attribution model, currency, date range and applied filters. |
| Edit | Opens **Edit Widget Settings**. |
| Duplicate | Copies the widget. Change one setting in the copy to compare, for example, two markets side by side. |
| Delete | Removes the widget from the dashboard. |

#### Edit Widget Settings

**Edit Widget Settings** opens as a separate page with two sections.

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FGPiDyjFkQpIPcWfi9f88%2F09-edit-widget-settings.png?alt=media&amp;token=2bb28845-ed43-4d79-9810-ad29b53d0608" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

| Section | What you can change |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| General Widget Settings | Widget title and widget content, for example the metric or dimension. |
| Widget Filter Settings | Attribution model, date range and filters in the Filter Panel. |

Click **Save** to apply the changes or **Cancel** to leave without saving.

The attribution model always belongs to the widget. The dashboard never overrides it, so you can place two widgets with different models next to each other and compare them.

### How to set one date range and filter for the whole dashboard

Each dashboard works in one of two modes:

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FeKjY52XuQjcTPYJEDu2E%2F10-header-dashboard-level.png?alt=media&amp;token=3bf1c23a-f490-4cd7-be3d-3c53023d010c" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

| Mode                    | How it works                                                                                                                          |
| ----------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Widget-level Filters | Every widget uses its own date range and filters. The dashboard date range shows **NOT SET** and the Filter Panel icon is greyed out. |
| Dashboard-level Filters | All widgets follow one date range and one set of filters from the dashboard header. |

To switch the mode:

1. Click **Edit Dashboard**.
2. Click **Configure Date Range & Filter Settings**.
3. Select **Dashboard-level Filters** or **Widget-level Filters** and click **Submit**.
4. Click **Save Dashboard**.

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FZZzPcrK3JAYQspQACXs1%2F12-configure-date-range-filters.png?alt=media&amp;token=6de815d4-41c6-46fb-938b-a67c791a6f68" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Switching to Dashboard-level Filters removes the date ranges and filters of all widgets.** The attribution model stays. If you may need the widget settings again, duplicate the dashboard first. After switching, check that widget names still match what the widgets show.
{% endhint %}

### How to change the dashboard layout

Click **Edit Dashboard**. In edit mode, you can:

* drag a widget to a new position,
* resize a widget by dragging its corner,
* rename a widget with the pencil icon,
* remove a widget with the bin icon.

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2Fos9TQmIMAfTxrffrsLYX%2F11-edit-mode.png?alt=media&amp;token=0b4c518a-88d6-48b7-8dfe-70ada22c7db0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click **Save Dashboard** to keep the changes. If you leave edit mode without saving, Roivenue asks whether to **Discard** the changes or **Save & Leave**.

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FstpoUijbV0ALGC9JaZlr%2F13-leave-without-saving.png?alt=media&amp;token=1ee1ed11-f7a6-4793-b0a3-aec2f3b49d2f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Put the most important KPI cards at the top and the detailed tables below. People read a dashboard from the top left.
{% endhint %}

### How to share a dashboard

1. Open the dashboard and click **Share**.

   <figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2FHhVQAP60TtqTBBW9CMog%2F15-share-button.png?alt=media&amp;token=5febe691-16de-43d7-ae4e-9bf82e2ef82c" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
2. In **Invite People**, enter the user's email or name.
3. Choose the role and click **Invite**.

| Role   | Permissions                                     |
| ------ | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Viewer | Can only view the dashboard. |
| Editor | Can view, edit, share and delete the dashboard. |

The invited user finds the dashboard under **Shared Boards**. In **People in this Dashboard**, you can change roles or remove access.

<figure><img src="https://4279879158-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MGvvrlVUvq4TNL0oYP6%2Fuploads%2Foo2r0xXFvioiUkA91yGY%2F14-share-dialog.png?alt=media&amp;token=00a91aa0-5adc-4ea4-895b-07b1021568a3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Only Editors can edit and share a dashboard. A user with read-only access to the Roivenue account can't be a dashboard Editor.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** In Dashboard-level mode, your own dashboard date range and filters are not shared. Other users may see different data. If everyone should see the same numbers, use Widget-level Filters.
{% endhint %}

### How to change the currency

Use the currency selector in the dashboard header. The change applies only to your current session. It does not change the dashboard for other users.

#### FAQ

<details>

<summary>1. Why are the numbers in a widget different from the report?</summary>

The widget and the report usually use a different attribution model, date range, or filter. Open the widget's ⋮ menu and click **Info** to see its settings, then compare them with the report.

</details>

<details>

<summary>2. Why are the date range and Filter Panel greyed out in the header?</summary>

The dashboard uses Widget-level Filters, so every widget has its own date range and filters. To control all widgets from the header, switch to Dashboard-level Filters in **Edit Dashboard → Configure Date Range & Filter Settings**.

</details>

<details>

<summary>3. Why did my layout changes disappear?</summary>

Layout changes are saved only after you click **Save Dashboard**. If you leave edit mode and choose **Discard**, the changes are lost.

</details>

<details>

<summary>4. Does deleting a widget delete the report or its data?</summary>

No. Deleting a widget removes it only from the dashboard. The source report and its data stay unchanged.

</details>

<details>

<summary>5. Why can't I edit or share a dashboard someone shared with me?</summary>

You have the Viewer role. Ask an Editor of the dashboard to change your role to Editor.

</details>

<details>

<summary>6. Why can't I add a widget to a specific dashboard?</summary>

You can add widgets only to dashboards where you are an Editor. Dashboards where you are a Viewer are not available in the **Widget Dashboard**.

</details>

<details>

<summary>7. Why can't I delete or leave a dashboard?</summary>

You can't delete or leave your default dashboard. Set another dashboard as the default first. You also can't delete your only dashboard, and you can't leave a dashboard if you are its only Editor.

</details>

<details>

<summary>8. Why is a metric or dimension missing in the widget settings?</summary>

The metric or dimension may be hidden or not set up in your account. Check **Data → Metrics** or **Data → Dimensions**, or ask your account admin.

</details>

<details>

<summary>9. When is yesterday's data on the dashboard?</summary>

Roivenue processes data overnight. Yesterday's data is usually available in the morning.

</details>

<details>

<summary>10. How do I export dashboard data?</summary>

Click the download icon on a chart widget. For tables and larger exports, open the source page by clicking the widget name and export from there, or use **Data → Exports**.

</details>
