# Marketing Profit

**Marketing profit** is a metric that shows the amount of money generated because of marketing investment within a specific date range or for a specific campaign. Marketing profit is [gross profit](https://docs.roivenue.com/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/gross-profit) subtracted by marketing investment.

[Deliveries](https://docs.roivenue.com/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/deliveries) generate revenue. If you subtract the [cost of goods sold](https://docs.roivenue.com/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/cost-of-goods-sold) from revenue you get [gross profit](https://docs.roivenue.com/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/gross-profit). And finally, the deduction of Marketing Investment from [gross profit](https://docs.roivenue.com/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/gross-profit) gives you marketing profit.
