# Marketing Profit

**Marketing profit** is a metric that shows the amount of money generated because of marketing investment within a specific date range or for a specific campaign. Marketing profit is [gross profit](/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/gross-profit.md) subtracted by marketing investment.

[Deliveries](/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/deliveries.md) generate revenue. If you subtract the [cost of goods sold](/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/cost-of-goods-sold.md) from revenue you get [gross profit](/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/gross-profit.md). And finally, the deduction of Marketing Investment from [gross profit](/roivenue-resources/glossary/marketing-and-financial-glossary/gross-profit.md) gives you marketing profit.

For more information refer to the Fundamental Marketing Process and follow the last steps of it.
