Cost Per Thousand Impressions (CPT)

Cost per thousand impressions is a metric that tells you the average cost of your ad for a thousand impressions.
As with CPI, it is important to understand that an impression is not equal to a view. In general, one impression only means that the ad was loaded into the promoter’s website.
Also, both CPT and CPI are commonly used to measure the rate you would pay for an online banner ad campaign or other online advertising campaign. The meaning of CPT is the same as CPI -- the only difference is the number of impressions.
Sometimes CPT is called CPM which stands for cost per mile. This has exactly the same meaning as CPT.


Calculation: CPT = ( marketingInvestment / impressions ) * 1000
Example: CPT = ( 10 000 / 1 000 000 ) * 1 000 (€) = 10 €
